I have just read your family history and found it very interesting as I used to live in the next village to Ightfield.
Prees could have been the main registration district for the surrounding villages and therefore would be on any documents as the place of birth.
Regards, Karen

Hello Pat, Just found your comment! JOHN EBREY and MARY PALING had a daughter ANN EBREY who was born/baptized 26 Aug 1830 in Ightfield as per parish records on microfilm. A birth date of Aug 1833 is in found in the 1900 US Census, with Prees as her birth location coming from research by Jilly Brenin. Both of the two latter bits of information are close, but incorrect. I was so delighted to find their records on microfilm!
Best wishes,
Barbara

WOW I have JOHN EBREY and MARY PALING in my tree. But I have their daughter ANN EBREY marrying BENJAMIN BOWATER then going to Milwaukee Wisconsin around 1870.I have not found proof of ANN EBREY's birth but from other sources it seems to be 1833 .Your explanation about the records must be why I cannot place her.
    regards Pat
